Gilgit : Industrial development and investment opportunities in Gilgit-Baltistan came under discussion as Finance and Planning & Development Minister Abrar Ismail held a meeting with President Pakistan China Shandong Chamber of Commerce Mr Cheng, Ms Gai Shengnan and Sherdil Ismail.

The meeting focused on establishment of factories, development of industrial zones and promotion of export oriented industries to unlock the economic potential of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Emphasis was placed on attracting Chinese investment, utilising the region’s strategic geographic location and encouraging value added production.

Officials said the proposed initiatives are expected to create employment opportunities, enhance local skill development and support sustainable economic growth.

Strengthening industrial collaboration between Pakistan and China would help accelerate regional development, boost exports and improve livelihoods in Gilgit-Baltistan, further reinforcing long term economic partnership between the two countries.
