Minister directs completion of Naltar Power Project by June
GILGIT: Engineer Mumtaz Hussain, Minister for Power, Gilgit-Baltistan, on Wednesday took a detailed briefing from Naltar 16MW Hydropower Project Director Nemat Khan on the progress of the project.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the current status of construction and directed all concerned authorities to make every possible effort for the earliest completion of the project.

He assured full support for the mobilization of the Chinese delegation involved in the project and instructed relevant officials to resolve all security and related issues on priority so that the technical team could return and complete their work without delay.
The minister further emphasized that all necessary measures should be taken to ensure the project is completed by June this year.
The Naltar 16MW Hydropower Project is a key initiative to boost power generation capacity in Gilgit-Baltistan, helping address chronic electricity shortages in the region, especially during peak tourist seasons and winter months.
Officials say timely completion will significantly improve local power supply and support ongoing development efforts in the hydropower sector.
