GB govt removes former Diamer DC from service
GILGIT: In a major administrative decision, the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan has removed former deputy commissioner of Diamer Fayyaz Ahmed from service after the completion of disciplinary proceedings against him.
According to an official notification issued by the Gilgit-Baltistan Civil Secretariat on March 12, the penalty of removal from service was imposed by Chief Secretary Abrar Ahmed Mirza under the Gilgit-Baltistan Civil Servants Efficiency and Disciplinary Rules 2011.
Officials said the action followed disciplinary proceedings initiated through a show cause notice issued on Dec 12, 2025. After completion of the inquiry process, the competent authority ordered his removal from service with immediate effect.
DC Diamer Fayyaz removed from service
Fayyaz Ahmed, a BS-18 officer of the District Management Service, had served as deputy commissioner of Diamer and held various administrative assignments in Gilgit-Baltistan during his career in the civil service.
The notification states that the former officer has the right to file an appeal before the relevant appellate authority within 30 days of the issuance of the order in accordance with the rules.

Copies of the order have been forwarded to several departments, including the Planning and Development Department, Home and Prisons Department, the office of the Accountant General Gilgit-Baltistan and the School Education Department for information and necessary action.
Officials said the notification did not mention the specific charges that led to the disciplinary action.
