16 Police Suspended for Defying New Posting

Chilas – In a disciplinary crackdown, the Diamer Police have suspended 16 personnel for not reporting to their newly assigned duty stations despite official transfer orders.

According to an official notification issued by the Diamer Police, the officers—transferred from Gilgit to Diamer—failed to comply with transfer directives dated March 6, 2026. Their absence was cited as a direct violation of lawful orders from the competent authority and a breach of police discipline and regulations.

The suspension order emphasizes that the personnel disregarded instructions to join their posts, prompting immediate action to uphold departmental standards. The measure has taken effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders are issued.

Among those suspended are:

  • Head Constables: Bilal Ahmed, Akhtar Hussain, Ghulam Allah
  • Constables: Osama Hamza, Gul Wali Khan, Muhammad Riaz, Waheedullah, Khalid Mahmood, Afaq Ahmed, Muhammad Kashif, Shamsur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman, Saeed Ahmed, Shoaib Sultan Butt, Liaquat Hussain, Faizan Alam

This development highlights ongoing efforts by Gilgit-Baltistan Police authorities to enforce compliance with posting and transfer policies amid regional administrative challenges. Further departmental proceedings may be initiated depending on the officers’ response and any subsequent inquiries.

The suspensions come at a time when law enforcement in the region continues to face various operational and disciplinary matters.
