Peace Committee Meets FCNA Commander in Gilgit
Gilgit: A delegation of the Peace Committee held a meeting with the Commander of Force Command Northern Areas (FCNA), during which participants expressed deep sorrow and concern over the recent tense and unfortunate incidents, describing them as detrimental to peace and stability in the region. They emphasized that elements involved in disrupting peace must be held accountable in accordance with the law.
The participants stressed that promoting religious harmony, brotherhood, and social cohesion in the region requires an active role from religious scholars, civil society, and the youth. They underscored that lasting peace can only be achieved by fostering dialogue, tolerance, and mutual respect among all schools of thought, and agreed to continue joint efforts in this regard.
During the meeting, the participants also appreciated the government’s decision to establish a judicial commission to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the recent incidents.
At the conclusion, the participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to promoting peace, harmony, and stability in the region through continued coordination, effective dialogue, and collaborative efforts. They also pledged full cooperation with the Pakistan Army and security forces to ensure sustainable peace and stability in Gilgit-Baltistan.
